In its second Sustainability Report, Medichem aligns with Act 11/2018, emphasizing enhanced measurement and content. Acknowledging pharmaceutical industry demands, compliance is integrated into decision-making. In 2022, recognized as one of Spain’s fastest-growing companies by CEPYME500, Medichem excelled in economic, R&D, digitalization, and ESG aspects. Key achievements include efficiency improvements, launching the first generic cardiovascular blockbuster in Europe, and initiating the “Caring for the Future” ESG project with a dedicated team and external consultancy support. The company underscores its commitment to sustainability through an Action Plan guiding decision-making for enhanced environmental and social impact.
MEET OUR OPERATIONAL COMMITMENTS ACROSS DIMENSIONS:
Human Capital: Medichem prioritizes people, implementing over 200 actions for talent identification, retention, and comprehensive training. Human Resources played a pivotal role in successfully implementing Hanna 4/SAP in Spain, facilitating over 150 “Change Management” actions.
Natural Capital: Under the “Caring for the Future” initiative, Medichem focuses on environmental sustainability, renewing ISO 14001:2015 certification, practicing solvent reuse, and investing in low-impact renewable energy, exemplified by solar panels at the Celrà plant.
Government: Medichem adopts a Compliance System, extending comprehensive training to Maltese subsidiaries. Monthly monitoring of R&D investment results in successful licensing to American partners. The “TOB: Thinking Out of the Box” initiative fosters innovation.
