Medichem Expands Collaboration with Somerset Therapeutics LLC Through Two New U.S. License and Supply Agreements

Barcelona, June 3rd, 2026 – Medichem is pleased to announce the signing of two new License and Supply Agreements with Somerset Therapeutics LLC, a U.S.-based pharmaceutical company, for products intended for the U.S. market.

The agreements include one injectable product presented as an IV-ready-to-use formulation, to be manufactured at Medichem’s state of the art fill-and-finish manufacturing facility in Asturias, Spain, and an oral solid dosage product developed using Medichem’s in-house spray drying technology at its oral solid dosage manufacturing plant in Malta. Both products are designed to address unmet needs in their respective therapeutic areas, while reinforcing the shared commitment of Medichem and Somerset to delivering high-quality medicines.

Under the terms of the agreements, Medichem will be responsible for the development and manufacturing of the products, leveraging its integrated capabilities across R&D, intellectual property, regulatory affairs, and commercial readiness. Somerset will be responsible for ANDA filing, management of Paragraph IV litigation, and commercialization in the United States. The collaboration reflects a common ambition to bring differentiated, reliable, and accessible treatments to patients in the United States.

The new agreements further strengthen the growing relationship between Medichem and Somerset and represent another milestone in the continued expansion of the collaboration.

“These new agreements represent another important step in our collaboration with Somerset and highlights the strength of our partnership,” said Olga Urazova, Chief Commercial Officer of Medichem. “They reflect our ability to combine advanced technologies, such as spray drying and ready-to-use injectable formats, with strong cross-functional execution to support successful product development and commercialization.”

“We are pleased to partner with Medichem, whose strong scientific and manufacturing capabilities complement Somerset’s expertise in U.S generic market, intellectual property strategy, regulatory and commercialization”, said Aman Trehan, Chief Growth Officer of Somerset. “This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to expanding patient access to high-quality, affordable medicines across the U.S. healthcare system”.

These partnerships further reinforce Medichem’s commitment to contributing to the global healthcare ecosystem by enabling the development of safe, effective, and high-value pharmaceutical products that enhance patients’ quality of life.
