Medichem’s 2025 Sustainability Report reflects another year of meaningful progress in embedding sustainability into every aspect of our business. More than a record of our environmental, social and governance performance, it demonstrates how sustainability continues to shape our long-term strategy, strengthen our resilience and create lasting value for our customers, employees, partners and the communities where we operate. Throughout the year, we further aligned our business with internationally recognised sustainability frameworks while reinforcing our commitment to responsible growth and operational excellence.
One of the most significant milestones of 2025 was achieving B Corp certification with a score of 98.4, recognising Medichem’s commitment to balancing business success with positive social and environmental impact. We also strengthened our climate strategy by obtaining a B rating from CDP, submitting our science-based decarbonisation targets to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and completing our first double materiality assessment aligned with ESRS guidelines. These achievements provide a robust foundation for integrating ESG considerations into strategic decision-making and preparing for the evolving sustainability reporting landscape.
Across our operations, we delivered tangible environmental improvements while continuing to invest in innovation and efficiency. During 2025, we reduced Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions by 12%, lowered total energy consumption by 5%, cut water consumption by 21% and reduced overall waste generation by 12%, while increasing waste recovery and improving resource efficiency. At the same time, strategic investments in emissions control, renewable energy, green chemistry and environmental infrastructure reinforced our ambition to build a more sustainable and resilient pharmaceutical business for the future.
